Brittney Yevette Griner is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women’s National Basketball Association currently imprisoned in Russia.
In her debut on May 27, 2013 against Chicago Sky, Griner equaled the WNBA dunk record, recording two dunks to equal Candace Parker ‘s career total.
She led Baylor to a National title during the same season that legendary coach Pat Summitt stepped down due to her ongoing battle with dementia.
